Hello all! Thanks so much for all the well wishes. baby hughes and I are on the mend but Mr. Hughes just caught the germies last night. ICK!
But, I am determined, sick or not, grey nasty weather or not,
to put some Spring in my step.
And Spring to me means a few things... and gardening is one of them!
I have been carrying these garden tools in my booth for a few months now and the handles are painted my favorite Vintage Junky blue (I sound soooo snotty.... oops!)
Anyhow, they are cute and they are fun and I would LOVE to send someone a set!
And along with the set of tools, I am going to throw in a surprise or a few..... I AM going to a great garden show next week.... the Bloomin Garden Show.
I will hopefully sentence a few plants to die by bringing them home!
So if you would like to win, leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite flower or plant is.
My sweet hubs actually brought me my favorite to plant in the garden last week but then it got too cold to plant them right now and they are in the house dying...
They are anemones
*smiles*
Okay, back to how to win....
if you want another chance, tweet it and leave a comment.
If you want yet another way to win, visit my website and click the Facebook "like this" thumbs up button and come back here and let me know that you like Vintage Junky on Facebook!
(Yes, people, it is shameless self promotion!)
I will choose the winner on Friday the 8th before I go to the garden show.
oh and the pansies in my baby bathtub were planted last fall... they aren't really THAT pitiful if you think about how long I neglected them!
bye for now!
Love the blue handles on the garden tools. I love roses and daisies the best.

I love basil and cilantro plants in the garden - not for appearance, but for deliciousness!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite plant is the hydrangea. I love that I can cut them in the fall and enjoy them for many days to come as they dry in a vase. They also have the great ability to start out as one color and by the time they are ready to cut they are totally changed.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flower is tulips! I love how they just come up out of nowhere, and that they only come once a year!
ReplyDeleteI love how they match the top of your blog that says "creating Character", this is definitely your signature color! :) and I love these little tools, mine sat out all winter and got well...ruined, so of course I would love to win these..!! :)my favorite flowers are peonies but we don't have the climate for those, so I am going to have to say lillies! Have fun at the garden show!

I love just about any kind of flowers in my garden here in the Pacific NW, but I especially love to fill containers with bright colors: lots of hot pink ivy geraniums, orange caribochia (sp?), purple petunias - any wild combination of colors with a lime green sweet potato vine or two! I added a vintage kitchen sink to my garden last year and love to fill it with flowers, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your signature blue!! I personally love hydrangeas. They are so fun and elegant. My best friend just had bunches in her wedding and I dried them after and made beautiful floral arrangements!!

My favorite plant is a tie between a basil plant and a Bonica Rose. Basil is so easy to grow and tastes and smells amazing. The Bonica Rose is a great shrub that blooms from frost until frost with lovely old small rose buds. Love it! Check out Heritage Roses they have the best!

ReplyDeleteWell, my favorite flower is clematis! I have 9 varieties.
ReplyDeleteI love Foxgloves but have trouble getting them to reproduce themselves like they say they will.
ReplyDeleteWould love a chance to win such pretty tools.

Great minds love alike! My favorite is also anemones, my hubby bought some for me for Mother's day last year... we wintered them over in the garage, where they still are, since spring can't make up its mind here in Utah (8" of snow on Sunday, nice and 65 degrees today, but now raining with more snow by morning.. I mean, REALLY?), I'm hoping they made it through the winter ok!
