A couple of posts ago I mentioned that peonies were my 2nd favorite flower. What?!? How can they no t be my first favorite. Many of you asked what my favorite one was. Well, that spot has belonged to the Anemone for years now. Sometimes the color changes (it is white right now,) but my favorite will always be this lovely flower with the big black center. I wanted them so badly at my wedding, but they weren't in season. I had to "settle" for peonies, hydrangeas and gerber daisies. Don't get me wrong, my bouquet was beautiful....
(I wish I had one in color, but I don't while I am here at work on my lunch... I stole this off of my facebook page. But, the peonies were white and pink with green hydrangeas and a darker pink gerber.)
Check out these next 2 and see if your favorite flower doesn't change:

Oh, and I am loving that dress...
It makes me want to plan another wedding. I keep offering to divorce Mr. Hughes just so we can get remarried to each other and I get another wedding... He doesn't seem up for it. It isn't "cost-effective" or in our "budget." C'mon! What is he thinking? I would even get to have a ring bearer this time, baby hughes, of course.
So, what is your favorite flower?
Those flowers are gorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen them. The black centers are just amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove those flowers, and equally smitten with that wedding dress! My favorite flowers are Peonies, Hydrangeas, and Tulips. Love your blog!

Hmmmm! I always say carnations, but I love hydrangeas and peonies too. Might be a three way tie. The anemones are sure pretty. I may have to see if we get them locally.
ReplyDeleteA second wedding (to my same guy) would be a fun thing, of course if it weren't so expensive. Several couples in our parish renew their vows and we may consider this when our 20th comes up in 2 years.
ohh I love those flowers...and peonies, I am not sure what my favorite flower is, it seems to change all the time. is that bad??? I love your idea of another wedding, maybe you could do a renew the vows ceremony or something, perhaps more cost effective!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right--those ARE gorgeous! I don't think I have ever seen them before. Thanks for the introduction. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love ditch flowers! We have these little purple flowers that grow in the shaded ditches in central IL. They look like phlox, but I forgot the name of them. They smell AMAZING - they are free & absolutely my favorite flowers :)
ReplyDeleteActually my favorite flowers are peonies, funny enough. I did have them in my wedding bouquet. But I love those anenomes too.
ReplyDeleteRanunculus! Oh how I love them, but they don't grow so well in our hot weather. I lucked out and was able to have a beautiful bouquet of them for our wedding. Just wish I could grow them in my garden.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that it is possible to have ONE favourite flower....there are too many beautiful ones. I love peonies, hydrangeas, violets, snowdrops, eucalyptus AND anenomes.....and many, many, more.
ReplyDeleteYou looked wonderful on your wedding day...I actually love your black and white photo. XXXX
I love your wedding pic--gorgeous!!! I have so many favorite flowers too~peonies, orchids, anenomes--they are all so gorgeous! I also love, love, love succulents in bouquets.
ReplyDeleteI love hydrangeas. My wedding bouquet was those, mini-calla lilies, white roses and bells of Ireland.
ReplyDeleteBut what I *really* love is finally seeing a picture of YOU! What a bee-yoo-ti-ful bride! And how funny that we'd both post wedding pics on the same day, eh? ;-)
XO,
Anne
Oh, so pretty! My favorite flower is ranunculus...any color will do. ;)
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
rachel
You look so pretty in your photograph! Aren't wedding day memories the most wonderful?
ReplyDeleteI love a lot of flowers, but most in love with white tulips!
Polly
wow ... someone else who loves anemones! I think we are a rare breed. I love, love, love them -- they're dramatic, but not too showy. I'm so glad to find fellow anemone lover!
ReplyDeleteI love shasta daisies. Simple, but pretty. It's what I had for my bouquet :)
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much I love this post. I named my daughter Anemonae. After this flower :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!!!! I love the black center too...but hydrangeas are always my fav and lillies my second:)
ReplyDeleteI love peonies! Lillies second...for my wedding I carried white lillies and my bridesmaid carried black lillies! =)http://www.weddingobsession.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/black-calla-lillies-bouquet.jpg
ReplyDeleteMy wedding was black and white. It was a dramatic statement thats for sure!
How gorgeous are YOU in your wedding dress??!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that dress in the flower pic as well, would love to see the whole thing. Pretty.
I got married in white seersucker. Ha!
Roses (home grown), peonies, and hydrangeas are three flowers I can't get enough of! Trina
ReplyDeleteLove the wedding picture, so pretty! I've never heard of anemone flowers, but I can see why they're your favorite. I've always loved daffodils and dogwood flowers (although I couldn't figure out how to carry a tree down the aisle).
ReplyDeleteOMG, Michelle you are so beautiful. What a gorgeous picture. You should do a post on your wedding. I would love to see the photos.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved white flowers of any kind. I'm not too picky.
My husband and I have been married 3 times. Never divorced just have renewed our vows over the last 30 years. Try it. It's fun.

I have to admit...I am a pale pink peony lover! And lilacs rank right up there, too! (Do those count since they are technically a bush..hmmmm) Oh, and totally loving that wedding dress, too! ~mary~
ReplyDeleteI love purple tulips, any color really. I love whatever is affordable at Kroger's to bring home to look at all week. I just had daffodils and they were so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess you can't buy a bouquet for anniversaries to look at because they'll still be out of season. flower love, DeniseMarie
