This or That

Hello.  Where have I been?  Well, let's just say when I start reading a book, or in this case, a trilogy, I get completely lost in that world. And have to finish... cannot think or do anything else.  It happened with Harry Potter and Twilight and now I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy and I loved every second.  It is all I can do not to go pick it back up and start all over again.  But, I am going to attempt to focus on a blog post right now.  I was chatting with a good friend the other day and I told her that I think I am more "black vintage" than "white vintage." Do you know what I mean... well, neither do I really.  But, it is all about finding my style... and I think I prefer things darker... not so shabby and white.... all though I like that too. Things like this:

&

So I thought it would be fun and interesting to see what you like.  Kind of like those eye tests...you know the one that you just choose one because you really can't tell the difference... you tell me which one is better for you....humor me *wink*

I am terrible... another lost source

I have taken so many "style" quizzes and they never get it right... I mean, one said that in was into Asian style... nope.  Not quite.
I still don't think that my style is defined by any one thing and *eclectic* is so cliche.

What do you consider your style to be?

Now, I have all these photos in my inspiration file, so of course I like them all.  But, if I had to choose:

2, 4 (that is hard.... 3 is quite similar in color and feel) 6, 7, and 9(although that chandelier is swoony)

There are mine... so what are yours?

Bye for now!

ps. speaking of choices... those of you who have read Hunger Games... who was your choice Peeta or Gale?
Peeta all the way for me *wink*

  2. I liked 5, 8, and 10. I seem to always be drawn to the white/lighter colors---although there are many pieces of furniture that I have painted black and really love too! Huh, now I'm confused---lol. They were all pretty pictures though, I'd take any of those rooms :)

  3. Michelle,

I'm the opposite of you! I actually really like all of the pictures. Kate Spade's kitchen is not my "style" per se, but it's marvelous!

As for the books.......I have been on the fence for a while. I tend to gravitate toward more substantial reads, and those looked like they would only entertain me for a little while. If they are that good though (and you aren't the only one I've heard it from!) I may have to read them. (:

    Still enjoying my beautiful plate!!!

  5. 1, 4, 6, 7 and 10! . Lulu were we separated at birth? I don't think eclectic is cliche anymore when it comes to decorating style. It is probably true now more than every before with all the vintage and industrial spin offs being so popular. There is a great article in Martha Stewart Living this month called "The New Vintage." I think that is where I'm headed. Its a challenge but managing to use the objects I love in our modern home and the mix is starting to work.

  6. All the pix are GOREGOUS!! But 3, 6 & 8 are my faves. I have not read the Hunger Games, but my daughter did and LOVED them...and she gave me the play by play. I thought they would be sad with the kids fighting each other to death. So, I never bothered, maybe I'll give them a shot.

  7. No. 8 is my favorite! I like how the wall is linen/cardboard color with all of the whites.

  8. I forgot to add that I can relate 100% about the reading the trilogies---I took my Twilight and Outlander books with me everywhere until I was done reading them...and then I felt like there was something missing! I haven't read the Hunger games yet, I think I will try those next!

  9. I actually like all of them....I guess I am neither black nor white! So, does that make me "grey"?!
My favs were 1,3,6,8 and 10 though.

#1 had me at the burlap ottoman....
#3 is pretty close to my vision for my kitchen (minus the black tiled counters).
#6 the open ceiling beam work, reclaimed wood island with industrial lighting *swoon*
#8 that old wood (again!) armoire and who doesnt love an old iron crib?!
#10 chandie, and the massive wide plank floors.

Thanks for the eye candy Michelle!

  11. That was fun. But I can only imagine myself and my family really living with 2, 9 and 10.

So I went to Franklin! It was so cute. Thanks so much for the recommendations. And my goodness, Nashville is simply amazing. What a fantastic city that is. I can't wait to go back someday soon.

  15. Well, IDK what to say - I like ALL of them. You could come and recreate any of those looks in my house and I'd be happy in those rooms. :)

  16. I have to say that this is great way to find a blog (my first time here). I always liked the white on white look (its the Scandinavian in me)... But I also like to have something with black within the space, it gives that extra to the space. So my pick is 1 (love the chair), 4, 6 (I have the same sofa, it looks grey but its soft black and cream stripe), 7 and 10. I love the white vintage look, antiques and bold graphics, a mixture of things. Great blog, must read more!!!

  17. 5,3, and 1 but I could take elements out of any of those and add them into my choices...ahh so hard to choose! Great photos and inspiration...!!
